Preaching of the Word of God
“All those who announce the Word, are the voice of the Word” (St. Augustine). Religious who are dedicated specially to the preaching of the Word of God should, through their actions, seek to be a prolongation of the work of redemption of Christ Himself. To better fulfill their mission, they must be convinced that the best
way of developing an effective apostolate is to live in intimate union with the Incarnate Word and to love souls to the point of giving themselves up with heroism and without reserve.
Hence, the preaching of the missionary must be nourished in particular by the sacramental presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. He who is called to preach the Gospel should be aware of the teaching of St. Paul: "we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us" (2 Cor 5:20). As an ambassador of Christ, he must, in the performance of his office, aim for the same goal set by Christ while living in this world as the Ambassador par excellence of the Eternal Father: "For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to bear witness to the truth "(Jn 18:37)," “I came that they may have life”(Jn 10:10).
